Some Lord of the Rings nerd has built his family a Hobbit inspired home in the woods somewhere in England.

It is tucked into a hill for shelter, its mud walls and ceiling insulated with straw. Cooking is by gas stove. And food is cooled in a 6ft-deep hole in the ground. It’s COLD BATHS, though, as water is piped from a spring and not heated.

I’m sure the kids are going to love growing up in a mound of dirt getting food from a hole in the ground and taking cold baths. It’s not all bad he insisted on having a computer, stereo and electric light— all solar powered of course.
