Cool Art By Pedestrians
With pollution and over crowding a huge problem, an innovative marketing and branding firm working alongside the China Environmental Protection Foundation has created an ambitious art-in-action piece to remind city dwellers of the benefits of walking.
White canvases, pre-painted with a leafless tree, were stretched across 132 sidewalks in fifteen Chinese cities. Just as pedestrians moved toward the crosswalk, they stepped on a giant ink pad embedded with green paint causing their shoes to leave a “leaf’ print behind. The result were trees in bloom.
The agency estimated about 4 million people helped create the trees which were later used as billboards.
