Just in time for Hallowe’en.

This is without a doubt the most discusting hockey injury you’ll ever see. Clint Malarchuk cutting his jugular. I know a guy losing an eyeball is pretty frickin’ gross but come on, his Throat was Slit! With a Skate! The sight was so revolting that 2 spectators suffered heart attacks and 3 of Malarchuk’s teammates vomited while still on the ice.

The notable incident occurred during a game on March 22, 1989 between the visiting St. Louis Blues and Malarchuk’s Buffalo Sabres. Steve Tuttle of the Blues and Uwe Krupp of the Sabres collided at the mouth of the goal, and Tuttle’s skate caught Malarchuk on the neck, slicing open his external jugular vein. (source)

Amazingly he never passed out and actually skated off the ice. Pretty tough guy, for a goalie.

And yes, that really is a Malarchuk Bleeding Out Figurine.

The clip is definitely not for the faint of heart. If you really want you click here to see a picture.
