Zidane Head Butt Statue
Anyone who watches soccer, or even if they don’t, remembers French legend Zinedine Zidane ending his career at the 2006 World Cup with a shocking head butt to Italian defender Marco Materazzi’s chest.
It was a bizarre moment I’m sure he’d like to forget, so it might come as a bit of a surprise that the incident has now been cast in bronze in Paris outside the Pompidou Center, the city’s modern art museum. I don’t understand it either, but I like it.
